Memorial Day Weekend

What are your paddling plans for Memorial Day Weekend?

If you are coming to the Mendocino Coast this Memorial Day Weekend and hoping to rent a kayak, check out the Noyo Fishing Center or Subsurface Progression.  We aren't renting kayaks because we are going to be on the water guiding our first Mendocino Kayaking Waves n Caves Weekend.  This is our first fully outfitted multi-day trip since August 2007 when we took some folks rock gardening in whitewater kayaks in Los Aborlitos (Baja, Mexico).

Our Mendocino Waves n Caves Weekend is following the same theme - 3 days of camping with good food and good company and GREAT paddling.  Those who have paddled both Mendo and Arbo know that Mendo is Arbo on steroids.

Food planning and logistics are complete.  We have some delicious treats planned.  Now its time to make sure that our paddling gear is all set to go and our camera batteries are charged.

We still have 2 spaces available.  Call us today, if you want to come play.  Otherwise, stay tuned for photos and videos and mark your calendar for our next Waves n Caves Weekend over Labor Day.

An Afternoon on the Noyo River

A super huge thanks to everyone that came out for "An Afternoon on the Noyo River."

We had a perfect day.  It was sunny and warm and over 40 participants paddling and making donations for Books for Babies and Kits for Kindergarten.

We had all ages on the water including many first time paddlers.

The women educators from our local Delta Kappa Gamma Chapter made lots of tasty baked goods for treats.

"Snowflake," one of our resident harbor seals joined in the fun and delighted everyone with her presence.

We're Back

We are back from our 21 day trip down the Grand Canyon.  It was an AMAZING Trip.  We will be sharing lots of photos and tales on our blogs and facebook pages.  Here is a photo taken by Mike Warren who was hiking in the canyon when we ran Granite.

BIG, FUN, WHITEWATER!!!

Now, we are off to teach an Essential Kayak Skills Class and prepare for tomorrow's community event - An Afternoon on the Noyo River.  If you are in the area, stop by.  It is a kayaking fundraiser for Books for Babies and Kits for Kindergarten.
