We can't believe it is the 10th of August already. Where did July go?
I guess time flies when you are having fun, and we sure have been having fun. Here's what we've been up to -
Kayaking - our tracks to kayaks trips with the Skunk Train have been a lot of fun. Here's a review on trip advisor that one of our recent participants wrote. We also have been sharing the magic of the wildlife and peaceful beauty with visitors on our Noyo Meanders and Sunset Bird Paddles.
We've also had some fun in the ocean with our whitewater of the sea trips and a little fun surfing some handmade wooden strip built sea kayaks. (Here's a link to photos on our facebook page of our evening at Chicken Point with these beauties).
Wildlife watching - Definitely a highlight of the summer has been all the Pacific Pond Turtles on the Noyo.
We've also been watching lots of baby birds who have just fledged (left the nest) on the Noyo River. Kingfishers in particular have been particularly active.
Exciting news is that yesterday the green heron pair across the river from our deck fledged 4 young. We are looking forward to watching them explore and learn the ways of the world over the next couple of days.
I have become quite enamored with "Hairy" a gartersnake who likes to lie in a crack in our deck and pop his head up and see what's going on - like a spy cam.
We are also having fun planning our fall line-up of classes and adventures. We just sent out our newsletter for fall. If you didn't receive it and would like to, call or email us so that we can put you on our email list for our quarterly newsletters.
